Captain Marlena — Captain Marlena has over 30 years of sailing, sailing instruction, and cruising experience. She has sailed and taught sailing in Boston, along the Connecticut River coast, Chesapeake Bay, The Bahamas, and the east and west coasts of Florida. As an American Sailing Association Certified instructor, she can teach you the finer points of sailing and cruising. She draws on the years of cruising experience gained during a two-handed world circumnavigation, three transatlantic crossings, two trips throughout the Caribbean Islands, and numerous sails and deliveries up and down the East Coast of the United States. Captain Russell — Captain Russell also brings years of sailing and cruising experience to Island Sailing. He and his wife completed a circumnavigation of the Atlantic Ocean, sailing as far north as England. He has cruised all along the East Coast of the United States from Florida to Maine. Captain Vinny — Captain Vinny Checa has plied the Atlantic Coastal waters from Maine to the Gulf of Mexico, including Cuba for over thirty years. He has sailed and cruised the waters around Naples for the past twenty-seven years. With awesome local knowledge and a quick wit, Vinny will make you sailing trips most enjoyable. His 100 ton Master's license extends to all types of craft including both sail and power. Enjoy a sail with Capt. Vinny for a memorable day on the water.

Capt. Jeff has an extensive sailing background including everything from 35 foot to 110 foot monohulls and catamarans.

Captain Jeff — Capt. Jeff Hurwitz joined the Island Sailing Staff in January. Capt. Jeff has an extensive sailing background including everything from 35 foot to 110 foot monohulls and catamarans. He has plied the waters from the Chesapeake to the Mediterranean. His chartering experience includes several years in the Caribbean, specializing in the waters around the British Virgin Islands. Jeff's offshore mileage includes many deliveries throughout the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico. He can spin a good yarn, but always puts his customer's safety and enjoyment first.

Nature cruises are Capt. Dave's specialty. He is well acquainted with many of the area dolphins after working on a local cetacean research vessel which tracks the mammals movements.

Captain Dave — Capt. Dave Strickland has been sailing for more years than he cares to admit to. His first boat was a Malibu Outrigger, which he built while in college. While sailing aboard yachts large and small he skippered a 130 foot schooner in the Galapagos Islands. Dave's cruises and deliveries have crisscrossed the Caribbean, South Pacific, and the San Juan Islands. Nature cruises are his specialty. He is well acquainted with many of the area dolphins after working on a local cetacean research vessel which tracks the mammals movements.
